Political Awareness  & Involvement

Through non-partisan in nature and purpose, Delta understands the importance of and the need for an informed electorate. Delta’s concern for the public’s “need-to-know” and the enfranchisement of all Americans has been the philosophical basis for public service programs in this area. Voter registration and voter education programs, workshops and seminars highlighting elected public official assessment and accountability are ongoing. Nationally Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. host " Delta Days at the Nation's Capital," "Delta Days at the United Nations," and a "Social Action Commission."

 

Locally the Madison Alumnae Chapter Host "Delta Days at the (WI) State Capital" in addition to "Adopt a Poll," Political Forums and a host of events that encourage the african american community of dane county (wi) to become more politically aware and invovled.
